KELLY HARBITTER, CHAIR

Kelly retired in 2016 after a successful 25-year career with a national nonprofit 501(c)(3) dedicated to justice, public safety and homeland security issues. As Deputy Executive Director and Director of Government Affairs for the organization, Kelly’s executive-level management skills include strategic planning, budget development and management, program and project tactical execution, staff development and management, public speaking, legislative education and outreach, and client services.

 

Kelly now dedicates her time to local charitable organizations. She was honored to serve as Treasurer on the Board of Directors of the Northern Virginia Therapeutic Riding Program (NVTRP) since 2017 before becoming Chair in 2022. 

 

For six years she served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for abused and neglected children in Arlington and Alexandria Counties. Kelly is co-chair of the Honorary Board of Directors for SCAN of Northern Virginia, SCAN is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the well-being of children, improve parent-child relations and prevent child abuse and neglect.

 

A lifelong horse enthusiast and horse owner, Kelly appreciates the remarkable impact these majestic animals have on their humans and the life changing, healing values they offer to each and every one of us.
