I am absolutely thrilled to share that we have received a $500,000 gift to our Build to Thrive Campaign from Jacque Trefry, one of NVTRP’s founders, and her husband, LtGen (R) Richard Trefry.
Jacque volunteered tirelessly with the program in our early years, when NVTRP was known as the Farifax 4-H Therapeutic Riding Program, and cares deeply about our riders. It is an absolute delight to hear her stories of when NVTRP used two horses loaned to the program to serve four children in a borrowed field near the current South Run RECenter, and the early stages of growth.
We are now working to raise $400,000 in cash and pledges and $400,000 in donated services—site work in particular—to fully reach our $3.46 million goal. At last, we are in a position to look very seriously at breaking ground this December.
To help build on the current momentum, Jean and Ric Edelman have offered to match any gift of $1,000 or more to the campaign, up to a total of $200,000. If you or someone you know may want to help us reach our goal, please contact Development Director Wendy Baird at firstname.lastname@example.org or (703) 764-0269.
Years of hard work on the part of so many people have enabled us to get to this point. The momentum is palpable. Stay tuned for more details, but for now, I hope you will share in our excitement as our long-time dream of an indoor riding arena is finally within our reach!
To our riders!
