Adopt-a-Horse Program

The Northern Virginia Therapeutic Riding Program, a 501(c)3 organization, helps individuals with disabilities gain strength and independence through horseback riding. We have been in operation for 29 years, have 85 riders, eleven horses and have help from 100 volunteers per week.

Our horses give riders with physical, emotional and cognitive disabilities the chance for learning, exercise and fun. The horses are the backbone of our program and deserve the best care – regular visits from the veterinarian, farrier, chiropractor and saddle-fitter as well as high-quality grain and hay. Expenses for each horse are $4000 per year.

Your organization can help NVTRP continue to provide services to individuals with special needs in the community through our Adopt-A-Horse program. For your generous donation of $4000 you will receive:

• 8 x 10 photo of your adopted horse
• Write-up of your organization in the NVTRP newsletter
• Corporate name on the Adopt-a-Horse plaque
